...ever just get the mopes? oh, uh, yeah, me either...
it's not that i've been weepy or unhappy. on the contrary, i am very blessed and content with my life right now (minus the 5:30 wake-up call...if that could only be 6...) and i had a very wonderful weekend.
saturday, mom & i headed down to the general b'ham area (even though we never made it into actual b'ham for an extended amount of time) with my great friend Lizzy (she goes by Elizabeth now) whom i have been friends with since preschool choir at church. i was a bridesmaid in her wedding and now she is a bridesmaid in mine! anywho...we were on a mission!
but first, we stopped in montevallo for lunch at ZAPOPAN!!! (for those of you who don't know...zapopan owns a not so minor piece of my heart...& i probably own 20% of the restaurant based on my business alone)
after lunch we went to a beautiful store in downtown helena, the white room, and SHOPPED FOR WEDDING DRESSES! the whole thing was meant to be and it started with the fact that we didn't have an appointment (didn't realize we needed one) but they just so happened to have a cancellation & we got to shope and try on right away. the other miracle? this time the whole wedding dress shopping regalia was a pleasant experience (the only other time we've been was a nightmare) and we really did have fun! biggest miracle of all...I FOUND THE PERFECT DRESS! and as if that weren't enough, the dress i found and fell in love with is a dress that has been discontinued by the designer, but the designer happens to be "soul mates" with the owner of the shop so she continues to make it for them...they are the only store in the country who carry it! so about this time i'm thinking it was meant to be! the best part, we got to the store at 1:15 and we were out of there by 4. (one thing i do not like is trying on clothes, and while this was fun and exciting, i was relieved to be finished so quickly...but i didn't feel rushed)
we are all very relieved to have this most major item checked off of our list & now we can get back to the planning...
this week has been okay so far, a little whiney (thanks to my 10th graders) but nice just the same. Daddy came home from his 2-week long business trip monday, so the house seems normal again.
this friday's pep rally theme is "back to the 80's" and i am STOKED! blake and i are finally getting to go to a football game friday night & saturday we are headed to chelsea (south of b'ham) for my friends michael & brandi's wedding...then we'll spend the night with the harvards & head back sunday morning so i can be at work on time. (pottery barn that is)
anyway, i've put off my shower long enough...i'm hoping it's lightened up a bit outside. it's so gloomy to get ready when it's dark out!
today at school i am showing a VIDEO! (it's graduation exam week and we're not allowed to teach any new material...we just finished the colonial america unit, so today we are watching a video about jamestown) what does that mean? lots of time for me to get stuff done before the weekend...oh, and QUIET. lots of QUIET. (to tell the truth, i've had quiet all week, independent work on study guides mon.&tues. and then a test yesterday...gwa ha ha)
