today...

...we have officially been married for TWO MONTHS!!!

tomorrow is the last friday of the school year...next week i have exams which means 1/2 days at work...we have a harvard family cookout in sylacauga next saturday...margot & nath are coming to spend the weekend with us next weekend...wes anania is coming to stay probably sunday...blake is running the cotton row next monday (the race he ran the day after we got engaged last year!!!)...we are ridiculously happy mostly all of the time...our house if full of laughter all of the time...our families are good and, let's face it, wonderful as usual...SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!!!

basically, life is good...isn't it strange that when things are going so well there is always something that feels different or weird? i'm very discouraged and hurt by an old friend and i'm not sure how to handle it. you shouldn't have to beg someone to be your friend...but i don't want to just scrap it and move on. it's too important to me. the hurtful thing is, it is clearly not important to them...i guess what i'm saying is, i'm not important. over the years i have had several friends (and one very recent and nasty redheaded ex-friend) who were just "too busy". the sad thing is, i am busy, too, and i still MAKE TIME for them. friendships are important to me and i take them seriously. don't get me wrong, i am blessed with many strong friendships in my life. overtly blessed, in fact. it's just sad to realize that an old friend like this one is fading away.

i'm going to focus on the darling husband sitting in his papa bear chair who loves me, fixes me fabulous fruit with cool whip desserts, teases me, takes care of me, is my absolute best friend, and whom i could not live without... it is fabulous to be living in a state of wedded bliss!

(we'll get to spend a whole 2 months TOGETHER...and just like we were marvelling at tonight...we never get sick of eachother...it is fabulous)
